Hickory – Diane Christensen, a Hickory, NC resident, is a certified Easy Tai Chi ™ Instructor whose teaching format includes both Tai Chi and Five Minute Fitness™. Diane will be the speaker at the Women’s Resource Center Inspiring Women Luncheon on Tuesday, September 12, from noon till 1PM. Register today to attend, seating is limited. Diane’s organization, Inner Chi Arts, is designed to inspire the cultivation of personal chi or energy utilizing Easy Tai Chi as a foundation to develop mind, body and spirit.
She has studied the martial arts since 2010 and currently holds a brown belt in karate. An accomplished martial artist, she began competing at age 50 in traditional kata and added sparring and weapons successfully in 2014 having won her division in every meet that season, including the MVO and qualifying for an invitation to World Games XXVI.
She decided to add soft forms to her repertoire as a vehicle to recover from a knee injury. Successful rehabilitation drove her interest in self preservation and well being through tai chi and she pursued training under Dr. Keith Jeffrey, Founder of Easy Tai Chi and Advisor on the American Tai Chi Association.
When not on the mats at the dojo she can be found in the bleachers supporting her two teen age children’s athletic endeavors, playing golf or enjoying her 28 year long career in furniture sales, design and marketing.
