Hickory – Looking for a job? Plan to attend a workshop presented by Direct Higher and Women’s Resource Center (WRC) to learn how to prepare and set expectations in a job search. The workshop for women will be held at Women’s Resource Center from 5:30 to 7pm on Tuesday, October 16. It will be led by Kelley Hayward, WRC Women2Work Program Coordinator and Anna Schuszler, owner of Direct Higher and a WRC board member. Admission is free, but registration is required by phoning (828) 322-6333 or emailing [email protected].

During the workshop participants will discuss potentially intimidating issues they could face during a job search such as 1) How to set expectations; 2) Phone interviewing skills; 3) Facing rejection after an interview; and 4) How to negotiate salary. There will be plenty of time for attendees to ask questions.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for any woman who is currently looking for a job, or planning to in the near future, to receive accurate information to her job search questions,” says WRC Executive Director Cindy Rose.

Women’s Resource Center is located at 125 3rd St. NE, Hickory.
