Now in Theaters: 

Knock at the Cabin (not screened) is M. Night Shyamalan’s adaptation of the 2018 horror novel, “Cabin at the End of the World,” wherein four strangers holding the key to an impending apocalypse besiege a vacationing family. Dave Bautista stars. 

Magic Mike’s Last Dance (not screened) The third and supposedly final chapter in the “Magic Mike” series finds the title character attempting to redeem himself after a bad business deal. Steven Soderbergh, who sat out on the last one, returns as director as does star, Channing Tatum. 

New to Disc: 

Universal: 

The Fabelmans (2022) Steven Spielberg’s autobiographical look at his childhood and his path to becoming a filmmaker, the recipient of multiple Oscar nominations, comes to disc this week in both 4K and Blu Ray editions with a few new extras.

Channing Tatum in Magic Mike’s Last Dance

Romeo and Juliet (1968) Franco Zeffirelli’s beautiful adaptation of the classic Shakespeare play makes its Blu Ray debut with a new transfer and some interviews.

Kino:

The label is celebrating the work of the late French filmmaker, Francois Truffaut, with the release of seven of the director’s films on Blu Ray, several of which have never been available on the format stateside. 

Mississippi Mermaid (1969), The Bride Wore Black (1968) and The Story of Adele H (1975), all of which have long been out print, are now available in separate editions and include a bonus audio commentary.

Also being issued is a box set entitled, The Francois Truffaut Collection (1970-78) which includes The Wild Child (1970), Small Change (1976), The Man Who Loved Women (1977) and The Green Room (1978), none of which have been previously available in the Blu Ray format. The only bonus material included in this set are the film’s trailers. 

Arrow: 

Giallo Essentials (1971-75) is a new collection of Italian horror films being issued from the label. This new set includes The Night Evelyn Came Out of the Grave, The Iguana with the Tongue of Fire and The Suspicious Death of a Minor. As with all of Arrow’s releases there are numerous extras including commentaries, featurettes and the like. 

Cohen Media: 

Love on the Ground (1984) Jacques Rivette’s tale of a theater troupe duo (Jane Birkin, Geraldine Chaplin), who witness strange occurrences after agreeing to a private performance in a mansion, comes to Blu Ray in this new edition which includes a bonus commentary. 

Warner Brothers: 

House Party (2023) The recent attempt to reboot the popular film franchise of the 1990s is getting a Blu Ray issue this week from the label.
