Hickory – Join us on Monday, January 22nd at 6:00 pm at Patrick Beaver Memorial Library to hear Beth McHugh share her experience as one of the survivors of the Hudson River crash of US Airways Flight 1549.
On January 15th, 2009, Flight 1549 departed New York’s LaGuardia Airport. Moments later, both engines disabled by a flock of geese, the aircraft made a water landing in the Hudson River. All 155 passengers and crew members survived the crash, which became known as the “Miracle on the Hudson.” Several books have been published on the incident, including biographies of the pilot, Captain “Sully” Sullenberger.
