Hickory – Join Patrick Beaver Memorial Library at the Drendel Auditorium on the SALT Block on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. for free an edutainment program presented by the Suah African Dance Theatre.

This program will give you the chance to learn more about the West African culture through diverse music and dancing. The Suah African Dance Theatre is a professional touring African drum and dance company based in Greensboro, NC. The mission of the Suah African Dance Theatre is to support and mentor future generations by inspiring in them an appreciation for African culture through diverse styles of dance performances.

Or you can blast off into the Ridgeview Branch Library to celebrate the start of an awesome Summer Learning program full of stars, astronauts, aliens, and awesome stories! To celebrate, SUAH African Dance Theatre will perform at the Ridgeview Recreation Center at 2 pm on Saturday, June 15. Following their performance the party will move right next door to the Ridgeview Branch Library for frozen yogurt from Di’lishi, groovy caricatures from artist Jerry Frazee, and more fun activities and games. Please note that there will be a limit of one frozen yogurt per person present and will be served on a first come basis.

All library programs are free and open to the public.
