Conover, NC – Since the 1940’s, Sipe’s Orchard Home has been a safe and caring place for children. Today, Sipe’s serves children through a variety of programs including the NCPK pre-school program for at-risk four-years-olds, a summer day camp for school age children, and a transitional living program for homeless youth ages16-21.

According to Sipe’s president, Jamie Brown, “For a couple of years we have focused on restoration–restoration of children’s lives as well as our buildings and grounds. Today, we are seeing results!” Our Transitional Living Program is expanding with the need for additional capacity. Sipe’s recognized this capacity constraint and currently, two empty buildings on campus are under renovation to house and help more homeless youth! Renovations are being completed and the reality of two completely renovated buildings is within sight.

Here is how the community can help:  In our renovations, we   need items to furnish the two buildings that are being renovated.  Everything including kitchen items, furniture, mattresses and bedding are needed.  DeLane Bowman, Sipe’s Chief Operating Officer, has a master list of items that can be donated.  Kitchen items are registered at Target under Sipe’s Orchard Home/ DeLane Bowman.  Church groups or other organizations and individuals are encouraged to adopt a bedroom or other area in the two structures.

Cash donations are also accepted and can be sent to Sipe’s Orchard Home; 4431 County Home Rd.; Conover, NC  28613.  For further information, call DeLane at 828-256-3307 or email dbowman@sipesorchardhome.org.
