bridgeclosedCharlotte, NC – Two bridges in Cleveland County and five in Lincoln County will be undergoing replacement, thanks to an $8.5 million contract awarded by the N.C. Department of Transportation to R.E. Burns and Sons Co. of Statesville.

The bridges are located on the following roads:
Cleveland County:
Oak Grove Road over Muddy Fork Creek; and
Bethlehem Road over Beason Creek.
Lincoln County:
Laboratory Road over Indian Creek;
Southside Road over South Fork of the Catawba River;
Reepsville Road over Tanyard Creek;
Howards Creek Mill/Westwind over Howard’s Creek; and
Alf Hoover Road over Howard’s Creek.

Each bridge slated for replacement will require an offsite detour during construction.

Work can start as early as July 31, and will be completed by May 21, 2020.
