Hickory – Do you enjoy looking into the past and hearing stories about how your ancestors lived or where they came from or other aspects of their lives that you did not know about? If yes, then join Peggy Mainess, genealogy assistant at Hickory Public Library for a genealogy workshop on Monday, June 27 at 7 p.m. at the Ridgeview Branch Library.
Ms. Mainess will provide participants with an overview of research techniques, identify resources for your study and help you locate materials. The emphasis will be on how to use these genealogy research tools to trace African American family heritage and how to overcome the unique challenges faced by researchers.
This workshop is free and open to the public.
