Hickory – Ridgeview Library is celebrating reading with a series of programs all about books and reading, but with a twist. Children in grades 2-5 are invited to join book artist Sigrid Hice on Tuesday, October 17, from 4:30 – 5:30 pm as we learn how to make a spiral book. Registration is required for this free event as supplies are limited. Children in grades 6-12 can learn how to make an origami book with Ms. Hice on Tuesday, October 24, beginning at 4:00 pm. Registration is also required for this event as supplies are limited. Anyone interested in participating should call the Ridgeview Library at (828) 345-6037 to register.
Finally, all readers are encouraged to stop by the Ridgeview Library on Saturday, October 21, beginning at 11:00 am to write their favorite living author a card or letter of appreciation. Have you ever wanted to tell an author “thanks” for the hours of great reading, or to let them know how much a book meant to you? Take a moment to write your thoughts down and Ridgeview Library will make sure that all the letters get to the author or author’s agent. Take a moment to say thanks!
Ridgeview Library is located at 706 1st Street SW, at the corner of 1st Street SW and 7th Avenue SW, beside the Ridgeview Recreation Center. All library programs are free and open to the public.
