Hickory – Please join us at Patrick Beaver Memorial Library on Monday, October 15 from 10am to 12pm as we learn about Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). VayaHealth’s Geriatric and Adult Mental Health Specialty Team will offer free training about PTSD through the NC Division of Health Service Regulation (DHSR). Contact hours for students, caregivers and professionals will be available on the day of the training.

Anyone can experience PTSD in their lives. You may be a veteran, accident victim, suicide survivor, sexual assault victim and others who have PTSD from other traumas. In this session, “Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder,” you will learn through evidence informed discussion and scenarios how to help. Through classroom conversation, participants learn ways to support individuals who may have experienced a traumatic event, which may lead to Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

This training from VayaHealth is open to the public, but space is limited and registration is required. Participants will meet in the large meeting room in the lobby. You may register online at http://hickorync.gov/content/library, click on Library Events and choose “Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder” to reserve your seat. You may also register by calling the library at 828-304-0500 ext. 7235.

Patrick Beaver Memorial Library is located at 375 3rd St. NE on the SALT Block. Hours are 9am to 9pm Monday through Thursday, and 9am to 5pm, Friday and Saturday.
