Newton, NC – The Maiden Branch Library is collaborating with the Catawba County Partnership for Children and their Parent Support Team to present two Positive Parenting Workshops.
The first workshop will be “Raising Confident Competent Children” on Tuesday, June 6 from 6 – 7:30 pm. Kids are more likely to be confident, to succeed at school, and get along well with others when they develop certain life skills. This seminar will give parents ideas on how to help their kids get there.
The second workshop will focus on “Raising Resilient Children” on Tuesday, June 13 from 6 – 7:30 pm. One of the important aspects of parenthood is helping children learn to deal with their emotions, and so this workshop provides parents with tools for teaching children how to bounce back after day-to day disappointments and struggles.
The Parent Support Team provides a continuum of parent education opportunities to families in Catawba County, using the Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) curriculum. They coordinate a multi-agency collaborative of parent education providers and connect parents to appropriate resources.
The team is supported by Catawba County Social Services. Learn more by visiting them at catawbakids.com/early-childhood-services/smart-start-services.
The Maiden Branch Library is located at 11 South A Ave., Maiden NC, 28650.
