Hickory – The summer months can be a very stressful time for our pets. Thunder storms, new people in the house for cook outs and gatherings, and of course, fireworks. HSCC wants you to be prepared should you be separated from your pet. The days following the 4th of July are the ones where we see the largest intake of dogs, who were startled by the festivities of Independence Day and have run away from home.

To help you protect your pets we are offering a $15 microchip special Thursday, June 28 – Friday, June 29 from 12-4pm at both shelters. No appointment is needed, just proof of a current Rabies vaccination. If your pet is microchipped, should you be separated the chances of them returning home to you are much greater.
