Hickory – October is North Carolina Beer Month, and Olde Hickory Brewery is starting the celebration with the release of Olde Rabbit’s Foot on Friday, October 1st.

This limited release is a collaboration beer created by OHB, Foothills Brewery, and Duck-Rabbit Craft Brewery. Steven Lyerly, head brewer at Olde Hickory Brewery, said, “This beer was the very first collaboration between NC brewers, one of the first collaboration brews in the country, in 2009. It has been four years since we created this beer.”

Olde Rabbit’s Foot is a blend of imperial stouts from each brewery and aged in bourbon barrels. Olde Hickory Brewery bottled the first batch in 2009. The breweries take turns, and this year it was bottled by Foothills Brewery.

Olde Rabbit’s Foot will not go to distribution and will only be available through each brewery. Locally, Olde Rabbit’s Foot will be available on draft, and in 22 oz. bottles, at Amos Howards Restaurant & Brew Pub at amoshowards.com, Olde Hickory Tap Room at www.oldehickorytaproom.com, and Olde Hickory Station at www.oldehickorystation.com.
