Valdese, NC – Valdese Family Friday Nights Summer Concert series will feature the Night Move Band this Friday, July 22, beginning at 7:00pm, located in the Town Parking area.
The Night Move Band is all about entertaining and exciting the crowd. With a cast of musicians that can each boast over 25 years of experience, this band is just as at home on stage in front of a large festival crowd as they are playing for a private party. With a diverse song list, the Night Move Band performs R&B, Beach, Classic Rock and Funk music.
Phil Witherspoon, Lead Vocalist/Percussion/Keyboards, has been in bands for over 30 years and has played all over the East Coast. Fronting the band and bringing his special talents to the audience is what he is all about. Mike Miller and Mike Lord play keyboards, with Miller doubling as a lead vocalist. Ron Skinner adds the bass guitar/vocals with a funky low punch delivery and Paul Mitchell joins on lead vocals and percussion. Michael Roof plays saxophone and provides vocals, with Larry Arndt on lead guitar.
The band is based in Western North Carolina and enjoys entertaining crowds with their four part harmony. Audiences love to dance to their hits, and the bands single “Smooth Stepping Papa” spent 28 weeks on the 94.9 The Surf Top 20 List. The band was also nominated for the 2013 Beach Music Awards Rising Artist of the Year.
Concessions will be available and provided by the Valdese Merchant’s Association. Myra’s cruise in will begin every Friday night at 6:00pm and downtown shops will remain open later.
