Hickory – Hickory’s barbershop chorus, the Carolina Moonlighters, presented a Christmas program at Kingston Residence on Dec. 6.

Moonlighter President Lee DeArmond announced that the group would also present holiday programs at Trinity Ridge on Dec. 13 and Abernethy Laurels on Dec. 20.

In addition to fundraising for worthy causes (most recently Carolina Caring and Hickory High Choral program), providing free entertainment to community venues is a valued Moonlighter tradition.

The Carolina Moonlighters are the Hickory Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society.   The Moonlighters meet on Thursday evenings at 7 pm in the Arts Center Annex in the SALT Block near the Beaver Library in Hickory.

Visitors who like to sing are always welcome; ability to read music is not required. “If you sing in the shower, but think you could never sing barbershop, you’re all wet!” says Moonlighter Director Dennis Kimbleton.
