Hickory – In an effort to attract the high caliber pool of talent that are our North Carolina Veterans, we have organized a Military Hiring/Recruitment event called Welcome Home Hickory Metro scheduled for the weekend of Friday, Sept. 15 – Sunday, September 17.  We will host transitioning veterans and their families from Fort Bragg, Camp Lejeune and other installations in North Carolina.
The goal is simple – to create a pipeline for matching local companies and their great jobs with these transitioning North Carolina-based veterans.

The jobs are an important component of the veterans’ transition, but quality of life and a sense of community are what will ultimately “sell” the Hickory Metro as the perfect spot for these veterans and their families.  In addition to the hiring fair, a community tour and various excursions highlighting our various community assets of Catawba County are planned.

Thank you to our current sponsors of this event: Corning and Cargo Transporters. Your thoughtful consideration of this as a long-term investment is appreciated as 100% of these funds will be invested towards the recruitment of transitioning service members by the Catawba County Chamber of Commerce and the Catawba County Economic Development Corporation.
