Hickory – All four of Hickory’s mayoral candidates (Hank Guess, Will Locke, Hamilton Ward, and Lou Wetmore) will be at Taste Full Beans Coffeehouse in downtown Hickory on Friday, September 29, for an informal meet and greet from 7:30 AM to 9:30 AM. Hickory voters are invited to drop by during the two hour session to speak directly with the candidates and to enjoy a free cup of coffee courtesy of Taste Full Beans owners, Julie and Scott Owens.
The Owens’ commitment to the Hickory community is made clear by their level of involvement. Julie serves on the boards of the Hickory Downtown Development Association, the Hickory Music Factory, and the Hickory Farmers’ Market. Scott, who is also a professor at Lenoir Rhyne,, serves on steering committees for the LR Visiting Writers Series, TEDx Hickory, Hickory Downtown Development, and is the founding director of Poetry Hickory.
Julie and Scott were thrilled when all four candidates accepted their invitation to be available to meet and chat with coffee shop patrons and they hope that Hickory voters will take advantage of this and other opportunities to learn as much as they can about the candidates before the October 10 primary and the November 7 election.
