Hickory – Friends of Ridgeview Library and Women’s Resource Center invite the community to join together at an Awards Program and Reception to celebrate and honor contributions by women around the world and in this region in celebration of Women’s History Month today, Thursday, March 7, at Patrick Beaver Memorial Library, 6 pm.
The guest speaker for the evening is Dr. Virginia Wright, a physician at Frye Regional Medical Center, a community leader, associate minister, and mentor.

Following Dr. Wright’s remarks, the 2019 Community Service awardees will be formally recognized. The awardees include: Professor Charlotte C. Williams, Ruth Javier-Trott, Pat Anderson, and Esther Zenobia Morgan Jett. Each of these outstanding individuals has made important contributions to the citizens of this community through their professional leadership, volunteer hours, and generosity.
