Elks Lodge in Hickory

Hickory – The Hickory Elks Lodge will be hosting its annual Greater Hickory Metropolitan Community Veterans Day Ceremony on Friday, November 11th, to honor all Veterans. The annual Veterans Day Ceremony will be held downstairs at the Elks Lodge at 6 pm.

It will be a very moving ceremony again with the empty table ceremony and featuring speaker, Ric Vandett, Director of the Foothills Veteran Stand Down event held each April. The public is invited to attend. The Elks Lodge is located at 356 Main Ave NW, Hickory, NC 28601.

Since Veterans Day falls on a Friday this year, there will not be a reception following the ceremony. For more info: please call 828-322-2527.

Granite Falls Ceremony

The program features a selection of live patriotic music, the presentation of colors, speeches by local Veterans, the reading of the names of Granite Falls’ residents who made the ultimate sacrifice by giving their lives while serving our country and the placement of a wreath at the monument.

Town of Catawba Veterans Day Festival & Parade
Saturday, November12

Come out and enjoy a fun-filled family day with great food, cool crafts, music, side stage activities and some awesome kid activities. After the festival make sure you stick around so we can honor all our Veterans and show them how much we appreciate that have done for us with a spectacular parade. The Parade will begin at 2 pm, and will traverse through downtown, so grab a seat and enjoy the fun. Bring a bag so you can catch some candy.

Military Timeline at Fort Dobbs

In honor of Veteran’s Day, living history displays of hundreds of years of NC military history will be on-going, including soldiers from the Revolution, Civil War, World Wars, and more. Small arms and artillery firing demonstrations will be featured.

Sawmills Veterans Memorial Celebration

The Town of Sawmills is pleased to invite you to their annual Veterans Day Observance at the Sawmills Veterans Memorial Park. It is a privilege to have many veterans living in Sawmills and the surrounding communities. This is Sawmills small way of saying thank you for the service and sacrifice veterans have made for our country. There will be a brief ceremony honoring the armed service men and women. There will be guest speakers, special music, and lunch will be provided during this event.
