Lincolnton, NC – The Lincoln-Catawba Songwriters Alliance is hosting a monthly Round Robin for all songwriters, musicians, singers, lyricists and listeners. The next Round Robin will be held at the Southwest Branch Library Community Room on July 19th at 6 PM.
The purpose of this get together is to provide an opportunity for songwriters and musicians to network and to share music. Those who have original songs, instrumentals, covers or just lyrics are all welcome to participate. A keyboard will be provided and musicians are encouraged to bring their guitars and other instruments. A workshop for songwriters will be held after the music for those that would like to participate. This event is free and open to the public.
Co-founders of the Lincoln-Catawba Songwriters Alliance, David and Lisa Thurman, are members of the Blackberry River Band. They have been playing venues for over ten years and have recorded three studio albums, all on i-tunes. Their songs have been played on over 80 community radio stations and in over thirty countries. They feel fortunate to have been able to continue sharing their music and want to be able to give back. They would like to build membership in the alliance and facilitate other songwriters and musicians’ involvement in creating a supportive community for songwriters, anywhere on their journey. In addition to the monthly Round Robin, the Alliance plans to have songwriter showcases and a songwriting contest.
