Hickory – As part of the Hickory Public Libraries’ 2016 Summer Reading Program, On Your Mark, Get Set, Read, award-winning puppeteer Hobey Ford and his Golden Rod Puppets will perform at 10:00 am on Tuesday, June 14, at the Ridgeview Recreation Center adjacent to the Ridgeview Library.
The program will include a greatest hits from Hobey Ford’s years of performing and will include such classic fables as “The Ant and the Grasshopper”, and “Grandmother Spider Woman”. Ford uses a variety of puppets and puppetry styles, including large puppets roving into the audience and small puppets as simple as a pair of eyes, the Peepers. The magic of Hobey Ford’s puppetry will delight audiences of all ages. As always, programs provided by the Hickory Public Libraries are free and open to the public. People of all ages and abilities are welcome to attend this magical puppetry performance.
The Ridgeview Recreation Center and Hickory Parks and Recreation have generously agreed to allow us the use of their gymnasium for this event so that larger groups can be accommodated.
