Hickory – Trifecta Martial Arts and Fitness is coming to Patrick Beaver Memorial Library on Saturday, July 30th to offer two Campus Safety Classes. The first class at 1:00 p.m. is for females and the second class at 3:00 p.m. is for males. Head Instructor Keith Baldwin and Instructor Michelle Hansley will lead these class designed to help students safely protect themselves in real life situations.
Trifecta Martial Arts and Fitness is a mixed martial arts studio based in Catawba County. In addition to Self-Defense Classes, they offer American Combat Jiu-Jitsu, Jeet Kune Do, Kids Kickboxing, and Muay Thai Kickboxing classes.
The Campus Safety Classes at the library are free and open to the public. No registration is required but due to space limitations it will be first come, first serve. Library Hosts Campus Safety Classes On Saturday, July 30, And Adult Summer Reading
Hickory – Time is running out for adults to participate in a summer reading program at Hickory Public Library. Participate by reading a book, filling out a book review form, and then turn your review back in to Patrick Beaver Memorial Library or Ridgeview Library. Book review forms will be accepted through August 6th.
Participants of the Adult Summer Reading Program have the opportunity to win one of several grand prizes. The prizes are one of two Samsung 7” Nooks, one of two $50 iTunes gift cards, or one of two $50 Carmike Cinemas gift cards. There is no limit on how many book review forms you may submit so the more you read, the better your chance of winning a prize.
Complete rules and the book review forms for the Summer 2016 Reading Program for Adults may be picked up at Patrick Beaver Memorial Library or Ridgeview Library.
