Hickory – Join the Laugh People on Thursday, June 29th for a night of comedy and acoustic music at Neon Waves and experience “Comics for Charity: The Hickory Showcase” presented by Laugh People. Show starts at 9pm. Doors open up at 8.  Entry is $5. The entry fee gets you access to $1 draft beers, $5 beer pitchers and $4 well drinks all night long as well as chances to win lots of door prizes. Part of the proceeds will go to help an overseas cause based out of Uganda, “Bright Angels School” and food items will be collected for the Hickory Soup Kitchen. The last Laugh People show raised over sixty pounds of food for the soup kitchen. Let’s double that this time!

The Comedians will include Tyrone Burston, Jay Turner, Evan Pittfield, Drew Covert, Chrispy Pattison and Seth Springs with a local amateur preview Word Curry.

The local musical sensation Samosely will be playing in the style of acoustic.

Bright Angels School is a ministry of Springs of Hope Ministries, operated by Sarah and David Cheni of Busia, Uganda. They educate over 200+ kids from 3-9 that have lost their parents to HIV/AIDS. Part of their school facility collapsed during heavy rains last year. Cheni has been trying to raise the money to finish building the school for quite some time.

Jay Turner said, “I personally have met David and think the world of David. It’s our turn to try and help. So what better way to do that, than through comedy? After all this is the purpose of Laugh People.”
