Hickory – In honor of Black History Month, the Hickory Community Theatre is hosting a one-night only performance of Jackie Robinson: A Game Apart, written and performed by Mike Wiley, on Sunday, February 10 at 7:00pm in the Jeffers Theatre.

Wiley is a North Carolina-based actor, playwright, and director of multiple works in documentary theatre. His dramas relay the stories of fugitive slaves, civil rights game-changers, sports heroes and freedom fighters. Dynamic multi-character portrayals offer penetrating views into parallel lives whose roles within African American history have shaped a richer total American experience. HCT is a Funded Affiliate of the United Arts Council of Catawba County. This project is supported by a collaborative arts grant from the United Arts Council of Catawba County.
