This year marks the fourteenth anniversary of HSCC’s Hope Fund. In May of 2002 the Hickory Daily Record ran a front page story about the heroic efforts of an injured cat, later named Hope, determined to save her kittens. HSCC received over $4,000 in donations that allowed for Hope’s care, and with the remainder HSCC established the Hope Fund in her honor. Over the years, donations to the Hope Fund have enabled HSCC to continue to provide critical medical care to injured or sick shelter animals. Since its inception, almost 1,500 shelter animals have received medical care normally beyond HSCC’s resources.
