Hickory – Celebrate the season, shop local and support area artists during the Second Annual Holiday Open House & Festival 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19 at Hickory Museum of Art (HMA), 243 Third Ave. N.E., Hickory. This year’s event will feature more than 20 local artist booths, live music, sweet treats and discounts on shop HMA purchases.
Participating festival artists include Virginia Hurley, Laurie Childres, David and Belinda Wilfong, Terri Spencer, Andrew Atkin, Reilly Yount, Ron Rutledge, Tommy Stine, Jim Norris, Chad Weisner, Tracie Hise, Vickie Jo Franks, Leslie Hamlin, Tammy Leigh Brooks, Varian Swieter, Ginny Zellmer, Meredith Janssen, Troy Barnett, Ashley Barnett/Aston Burgess, Gene and Beth Parham, Joël Urruty, Judith Covey, Cornelia Allman, and Dennis Maloney.

HMA’s Holiday Open House & Festival also features live music from The Half Time Collective. The NC native duo of Alex Swanson on vocals and Laura Thomas on guitar, ukulele and percussion will perform their unique blend of indie, pop, jazz and country from 1-2 p.m. and 3-4 p.m. Holiday treats by Atlanta Bread Company will be available to sample and purchase.

During the Holiday Open House & Festival, HMA members will receive a 20-percent discount on all shop HMA purchases. A 10-percent discount will be available for nonmembers.

“We are looking forward to our first holiday season as the newly remodeled shop HMA,” Clarissa Starnes, shop HMA Manager said. “We have some fresh, exciting inventory, including new potters and painters, and Hickory Museum of Art merchandise that would all make perfect gifts.”
