Hickory – The soulful, rocking musical, “The Wiz,” ends its run at the Hickory Community Theatre this weekend, with performances Thursday through Sunday.
The show is an energetic, musical retelling of The Wizard of Oz that sets Dorothy’s adventures in the Land of Oz to a dazzling, lively score that mixes rock, gospel, and soul.
Tickets for Thursday night’s performance are $14 for adults and $10 for youth and students. Friday through Sunday tickets are $20 for adults, $18 for seniors and $10 for students and youth 18 &under. Tickets may be purchased online at www.hickorytheatre.showare.com or at the Theatre box office, which is open 12-5 Wednesday through Saturday, in person or by phoning 828-328-2283.
The Hickory Community Theatre is a Funded Affiliate of the United Arts Council of Catawba County. The Wiz is the first show in the Theatre’s 68th season, sponsored by Paramount Automotive, and is produced by Cargo Transporters, Corning Optical Communications, Dr. Kimberly S.
