Hickory—Murray Phillips, guest director for the RugBug Theatre program at the Hickory Community Theatre has just announced the casting for Remarkable Rita and the Gallant Thieves, on stage May 5th through 13th.

The play is a youthful take on the legend of Robin Hood. Featured in the cast are siblings Sophie Heller-Lee and Quentin Heller-Lee, along with Harley Buff, Hayden Everley, Katelyn Sears and Elise Wortman.

The RugBug Theatre at HCT is a “by kids for kids” program where young actors perform for young audiences. Actors’ ages usually range from 6-16 and audiences have children as young as three. The plays are short, 45 minutes to an hour with a 10 minute intermission between acts, which is perfect for young children.

Performances of Remarkable Rita and the Gallant Thieves are Saturdays and Sundays, May 5th, 6th, 12th and 13th at 2:30 and 4:00pm. Admission is just $5 for all ages. Ticket sales are at the door only, first-come first-served.

HCT is a Funded Affiliate of the United Arts Council of Catawba County. The 2017-2018 Season is sponsored by Paramount Automotive and A Cleaner World. The RugBug Theatre is produced by Commscope, The Rotary Club of Hickory and Shurtape.
