soccer ballHickory – Registration for Girl’s Soccer is now underway at the Hickory Parks and Recreation Department Administrative Offices located at 1451 8th St. Dr. NE, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.  The Girl’s Soccer Program is open to girls ages 7 -12 (must be 7 before August 31, 2016 and cannot be 13 before August 31, 2016).  Parents of children who have previously registered their child through the master registration system may register by calling the Parks and Recreation Department at 322-7046.

A birth certificate must be presented when registering for soccer if one is not on file at the Parks and Recreation Department.  A $40.00 non-resident fee for persons living outside the city limits of Hickory must be paid at the time of registration.  Those who register by phone and live outside the city limits will need to mail in the fees before skills assessments begins.

All children participating in soccer this fall are encouraged to purchase accident insurance coverage. The $6.00 insurance fee covers the participant for a one-year period from March 1, 2016 to February 28, 2017 in all activities sponsored and supervised by the Parks and Recreation Department and must be paid at registration.  The $250,000 coverage is primary coverage that pays regardless of other insurance, directly to the participant, doctor, or hospital. PEE WEE GIRLS – 7, 8, 9 year olds, (must be 7 before August 31, cannot be 10 before August 31) will be held at Neill W. Clark, Jr. Recreation Park located at 3404 6th St. Dr., NW on Monday, August 29 or Tuesday, August 30 from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.  Rain dates are Wednesday, August 31 and Thursday, September 1 from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.

MIDGET GIRLS – 10, 11, 12 year olds (must be 10 before August 31, cannot be 13 before August 31) will be held at Neill W. Clark, Jr. Recreation Park located at 3404 6th St. Dr., NW on Monday, August 29 or Tuesday, August 30 from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.  Rain dates will be Wednesday, August 31 and Thursday, September 1 from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. For more information, please contact Lou Thomas at 261-2254.
