Gastonia, NC – Gaston County Parks and Recreation will be hosting the 3rd Annual BIKEFEST on Saturday September 29. The event will be held at George Poston Park from 10am until 2pm. George Poston Park is home to over 10 miles of mountain bike trails and was named a National Recreation Trail in 2015. BIKEFEST will feature the grand opening of our pumptrack, live music, food from A Pinch of Soul Food Truck, bike demos, local bike shop vendors, FREE guided trail rides, a “blender bike” mixing up smoothies and shakes, and much more.

With the grand opening of the pumptrack, there will be experienced riders there to help with instruction on how to ride the pumptrack safely and successfully. Bikes will not be provided, so riders must bring their own bikes. The pumptrack is for all ages and skill levels. The guided trial ride will begin at 11am, will cover 10 miles, and is a no-drop ride, but the difficulty of the ride will be moderate. There will be helper riders there to assist anyone along the trail, and to help take short cuts if riders want to end the ride early.
