Morganton, NC – Foothills Conservancy of North Carolina celebrates the 10th year of its annual fundraiser, Flavors of the Foothills, on Saturday, October 12 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Doors open at 5 p.m. at the Morganton Community House, 120 N. King St., where guests can browse and bid on silent auction items, while being treated to appetizers prepared by the Community House staff, beer from Fonta Flora Brewery and wine from Brown Mountain Bottleworks. Auction items include gift baskets, artwork, experiences, pottery and more, all donated by local artists, small business owners and residents.

“Our auction features unique specialty items that you can’t get anywhere else,” said Beth Willard-Patton, associate director for Foothills Conservancy. “With so many incredibly generous partners, we have curated packages for a weekend away in Charlotte, tickets to local shows, artwork from the most talented creatives, and other items that we have hand-picked for our attendees.”

Following the silent auction, guests will walk around the corner for a locally sourced meal, served at a long, harvest table set in the middle of West Union Street. All ingredients for the farm-to-fork dinner are from Morganton-based growers and small businesses, including Blue Ridge View Farm, Bluebird Farm, Forget-Me-Not Farm, J & J Farms and The Natural Olive. Garden Gate Downtown will provide the floral decor.

“We really enjoyed our first dinner in the street last year and look forward to another excellent turn out,” commented Willard-Patton.“We even bumped it up a couple of weeks to hopefully avoid another cold snap!”

In addition to the silent auction, guests can purchase raffle tickets for $100. The winning ticket receives a three-day, two-night stay at a private home on Lake James, along with a private guided hike and a fridge stocked with delicious treats and goodies from Food Matters Market and Cafe. More information about the raffle is available at foothillsconservacy.org/raffle.
