Hickory – Congratulations to Harold Humphrey who took first place at the Full Circle Arts Members’ Show, with his alabaster sculpture entitled “Trinities”. Harold works with stone and wood, along with producing digital art. He began serious sculpting in 1972, while a student at Cal Poly. He went on to graduate with a degree in architecture in 1974. In addition Harold has published two books: “Transformations”, and “Heaven’s Songs”. You can find his work on the Facebook page entitled: Art By Harold.
Other winning works of art include: 2nd Place, “Field Ready” by Richard Sinclair, and 3rd Place, “Daly Awaits the Whistle” by Tom Helfert. Works receiving Honorable Mention are: “The Thunder Rolls” by Jan Jackson; “Tempest” by Clay James; “Desert Landscape” by Meredith Janssen; “untitled” by Ellen Schwarzbek; “Abstract Plate” by Varian Lee Swieter; and “Small Town Gathering Places” by Zan Thompson.
The prizes were chosen by Lise Swensson, Director of the Hickory Museum of Art.
The Full Circle Arts Members’ Exhibit will run through July 2nd.
Full Circle Arts is dedicated to offering artists in the Hickory area the opportunity to show their finest and most creative work in a gallery setting.
