Statesville, NC – Shop Downtown Statesville during the Holiday Shop & Strolls continue on Friday, December 9 & 16 from 5:30-8:30 pm. Enjoy a fun evening of merchant open houses and specials, stroll the sidewalks, listen to carolers, and enjoy the sparkle of holiday lights. Make memories with the little ones as you enjoy fun activities happening throughout the night including horse-drawn carriage rides and visit with Santa in the Historic City Hall’s “Santa Central” where kids can make holiday crafts in Santa’s workshop and enjoy snacks and hot chocolate.

~ Downtown Shopping & Dining

Downtown retailers are putting on their best and opening their doors to holiday shoppers. Stores will be decked out and stocked with this season’s best gifts for everyone on your list. Many of the shops will provide great deals and special in-store events – see the list below. To go with the holiday shopping season, downtown restaurants are ready to treat you to the holiday feasting season. The menu choices are as delightful and enjoyable as the chefs who prepare them!

~ Enjoy Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides from 6 pm – 9 pm beginning at the Square

Surround yourself with the sights and sounds of the holidays in a beautiful horse-drawn carriage ride through Downtown Statesville. Snuggle close to family and friends as you take a break from the hustle and bustle of the season. Carriage Rides require a $5 ticket per person. However, for each ticket purchased, guests will receive $5 in “Downtown Dollars” to be redeemed at participating downtown businesses on that night only. Children 4 and under are free, but they must be lap-sitting. Tickets will be available for purchase beginning at 5 pm the evening of each Shop & Stroll event near the southwest corner of the Square in downtown. Specific times for carriage rides will be assigned.

~ Enjoy Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides beginning on West Broad Street sponsored by R. Gregory Jewelers

R. Gregory Jewelers will be hosting Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides beginning on West Broad Street, in front of their store, each Friday of the Holiday Shop & Stroll. There is no fee; however, donations will be accepted with 100% going to Purple Heart Homes.

~ Santa Central at Statesville City Hall
Attention all good little boys and girls. Santa is coming to Downtown Statesville Fridays, December 9 & 16, just to hear what’s on your list. Visit with Santa in the Historic City Hall’s “Santa Central” where kids can make holiday crafts in Santa’s workshop and enjoy snacks and hot chocolate. Santa has left a special mail box in City Hall so your letters can be delivered directly to the North Pole!

~ Caroling and Music
Enjoy choral groups as they sing and stroll the sidewalks each Friday. There will also be live music in many of our downtown restaurants and shops.
