FHawk-a-pellaHickory – Carolina Moonlighter president Lee DeArmond announced recently that the barbershop chorus will present a show on June 10 at 7 pm at the First Baptist Church in Hickory.   Titled My Basin Street Blues; a Musical Trip Down the Mississippi, the first half of the show will chronicle the journey to New Orleans by the denizens of a steamboat.   Hawk-a-Pella, the exciting a cappella ensemble from Catawba Valley Community College, will anchor the show’s second half.   Moonlighter quartet the Acappella Fellas will also perform.   Admission to the show is free, though donations will be accepted.   No tickets are necessary as seating is ample.

The Moonlighters sing a cappella music in the barbershop style.   Rehearsals are held Thursday evenings at 7 pm at the Arts Center Annex on the SALT Block in Hickory.   Men interested in singing are always welcome to attend.

For any questions, please call Lee DeArmond at (828) 313-0758.
