Trunk Fest

The City of Hickory invites the community to Brown Penn Recreation Center on Friday, October 22, for Trunk Fest.

From 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., the family-friendly Halloween event will offer trick-or-treating, games, music, food, raffles, and much more. All ages are welcome.

Trunk Fest is hosted by the Hickory Parks, Recreation & Sports Tourism Department and is sponsored by Modern Nissan of Hickory and Healthy Blue NC.

Brown Penn Recreation Center is located at 735 3rd Street SW in Hickory.

Statesville

Trick-or-Treat in Downtown Statesville

On Thursday, October 28, Trick or Treat will be hosted in the Downtown Statesville Business District by the downtown merchants and businesses. From 4-6 pm, the sidewalks come to life with thousands of children and parents taking part every year. Participating businesses will display the Trick-or-Treat poster  in their window and will give away candy to costumed kids aged 12 and younger. Treats in Streets

Calling all goblins and ghouls! Join us Friday, October 29th for a howling good time as we celebrate Treats in Streets in Downtown Valdese! Our participating local merchants will be handing out treats from 4-6:00 p.m. Be sure to come dressed to impressed…awards will be given to the best costumes in attendance!

Catawba and Claremont

Trunk or Treat

The City of Claremont and the Town of Catawba have teamed up again to offer our communities a FUN event for Halloween!

Join us Saturday, October 30 from 5 to 7 for our Trunk or Treat at the City Hall Pavilion! Then Head over St. Marks and hit their trunks and then hit Catawba for their treats in the Streets from 6-8pm! So much FUN!

Lots of great things are happening, in and around the area, so check out Murray’s Mill, Catawba Creamery and Pop’s Old Company Store to find other fun things happening for families, children and even pups!

Interested in being involved in this community event? We are looking for volunteers to decorate a trunk or businesses/organizations to sponsor a trunk!

Prizes go to the best decorated trunks!

Murray Mill Haunted Mill and Trunk or Teat

Saturday, October 30th, will be a spooky fun day at Murray’s Mill for all ages! Trunk or Treat with contest for best trunk, costume contest for the kiddos are FREE and starts at 4:00! Schedule a tour of the haunted mill (buy haunted mill tour tickets in advance!) that is appropriate for all ages! Tours start at 2:00. Lots of spooky surprises will be all around the mill site! Trick or Treating

Trick or Treating at the fire department has been a tradition for many years. We love seeing everyone and having the community visit the department. This year we want to keep the tradition going. This year we will be giving out candy to all the ghost and goblins as in the past, but for your safety and ours we have decided this year will be drive through. Treats will be given out at the fire department October 30th from 6:00 till 8:00 pm. We look forward to see you.

Trick or Treats on Your Downtown Streets

Hosted by HDDA, Downtown Hickory Farmers Market and Hickory Museum of Art.  On Saturday, October 30, the Hickory Downtown Development Association, in conjunction with the Farmers’ Market will host a Halloween Scavenger Hunt. Participants may pick up a Scavenger Hunt Card at the HDDA tent (located on the Square in front of Artisan Soapery) or by visiting https://www.downtownhickory.com/calendar/.

In addition to the Scavenger Hunt, there will be Halloween related arts and crafts for the children. The event will start at 10:00 am and end at 1:00 pm.  Completed Scavenger Hunt cards should be returned to the HDDA table for Halloween pretzel snacks and apple cider, along with an entry in a grand prize drawing.

Scavenger hunt clues can be found in the windows of various local Downtown Businesses.

The Hickory Downtown Development Association (HDDA) is a private, non-profit 501(c)6, member organization with a volunteer Board of Directors representing a broad cross-section of property owners, business owners, and citizens-at-large.

HDDA is a member of the North Carolina Main Street program with the purpose of stimulating economic development and community improvement within the context of historic preservation.  HDDA addresses issues in areas of physical design, promotion and events, and business development within the boundaries of the downtown commercial district.

Huntacular

October 30th, 11:00am-5:00pm

Do you enjoy Halloween, quality time with friends, dressing up as someone or something else and scavenger hunts? If you answered “yes” to at least three out of the four above then boy, do we have the event for you!

You need to “creep it real” and form your power team of no more than 6. Once you have your ghouls, come up with a creative team name and costumes. The clues we create, will be revealed to your crew to translate! Teams can register before the event or on site. All teams will meet at the Huntacular table located on the Historic Burke County Courthouse Square/ 102 East Union Street.

The first team to complete the huntacular event will win $300 in downtown bucks, Halloween candy, and a great trophy! The team with the best costume will win $200 in downtown bucks, Halloween candy, and trophy. The team that comes up with the best team name will win $150 in downtown bucks, Halloween candy, and trophy. And the team with the best team photo (sent to [email protected]) will win $100 in downtown bucks, Halloween candy, and trophy.

Free hay rides from 1:00-4:00pm!

Halloween Extravaganza

Join Downtown Newton on Saturday, October 30 from Noon- 3pm, for a Halloween Extravaganza on East 1st Street in Downtown Newton, NC. Bring the kids to play some games and have a day of fun! Wear your costumes. Trick or Treating begins at noon.

Trunk or Treat

Hiddenite Arts and Heritage Center invites the public for a Trunk or Treat on Saturday, October 30 from 6-8pm at the Educational Complex Ballfield and Parking Lot located at 70 Hiddenite Church Rd, Hiddenite, NC.

This is a community event! Decorate your trunk and join the fun. Best Costume and Best Trunk prizes will be awarded.
