Hickory – The City of Hickory celebrates unity and diversity at the 2019 Human Relations Awards with the Celebration of Relations event.

Wednesday, May 22, the Community Relations Council (CRC) will hold the annual spring awards at Highland Recreation Center. The event begins at 6:00 p.m.

The public is invited to attend. There will be heavy hors d’oeuvres and a reception, followed by keynote speaker Emma Sellers, Director of the Lenoir-Rhyne University’s Office of Multicultural Affairs, and award presentations to the recipients.

“It’s always exciting to recognize members of our community who have gone above and beyond to promote positive human relations,” said Sandi Fotheringham, Chair of the CRC.

There were three categories for nominations: Individual, Youth, and Business and/or Organization. The community was encouraged to nominate individuals who exemplify the mission of the CRC of promoting positive human relations in the City of Hickory and beyond.
