Hickory – The City of Hickory will close its offices Thursday, December 22, through Monday, December 26, in observance of Christmas, but garbage and recycling pick-up will continue without interruption. The City of Hickory offices will re-open on Tuesday, December 27, at 8:30 a.m.

City offices will, also, be closed in observance of New Year’s Day on Monday, January 2, and will reopen on Tuesday, January 3, at 8:30 a.m.

Other city department closings and/or schedule changes:

Hickory Public Library, the Patrick Beaver Memorial main facility and the Ridgeview Branch, will be closed Thursday, December 22, through Monday, December 26, as well as Monday, January 2.

Parks and Recreation Department:

The administrative offices are closed Thursday, December 22, through Monday, December 26, as well as Monday, January 2.

All recreation centers are closed Thursday, December 22, through Monday, December 26, with the exception of Ridgeview Recreation Center and Highland Recreation Center, which will be open on December 26. All centers will be closed on Monday, January 2.

Parks are open 365 days a year.
