Newton, NC – Foothills Folk Art Festival organizers have announced support from Catawba Valley Medical Center (CVMC) as the festival’s presenting sponsor. The inaugural festival, featuring local and regional folk artists, will be held 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, in Downtown Newton, NC.
“Catawba Valley Medical Center is proud to be a corporate sponsor of the Foothills Folk Art Festival,” said J. Anthony Rose, CVMC President and Chief Executive Officer.
“We are excited about the renewed vitality the festival will bring to the Downtown Newton area and the outreach opportunity it provides us to highlight our role in improving the health of this community.”
Additional festival sponsors to date include Abernethy Laurels, Robert Abbey, Inc., Moose Holding Company, Bassett Furniture, and Holiday Inn Express Hotels and Suites, Hickory.
“We are very excited to have these initial sponsors,” said Susan Hunsucker, member of the festival’s executive committee. “The sponsorships will help cover the cost of putting on a first-class folk art festival, which we believe will draw many visitors to Downtown Newton.”
The festival–formerly known as Lake Norman Folk Art Festival–is making Downtown Newton its new home thanks to a partnership between Downtown Newton Development Association and Hickory Museum of Art.
The family friendly festival, which is expected to draw around 3,000 visitors, will showcase a variety of local and regional contemporary folk artists–whose work will be for sale–as well as artist demos, hands-on art activities for kids, two stages of live music, food from area restaurants and food truck vendors, beer gardens and more. Proceeds from the festival will support Hickory Museum of Art and Downtown Newton Development Association.
Opportunities remain for additional sponsorships. For more information about becoming a festival sponsor, go to foothillsfolkartfestival.com/sponsor-opportunities or call 828-327-8576.
