Newton, NC – As the Halloween season wraps up, the Catawba County Library is asking families who have outgrown their costumes or have accumulated extra ones to consider donating them for a fall 2019 swap-and-shop event.

Some children in our community don’t have access to Halloween costumes, so to ensure that kids have the opportunity to dress up and let their imaginations take flight, the library is hosting a donation drive. If you have gently used or even new costumes and accessories that you no longer need, please drop them off at any of the seven Catawba County Library branches: Newton, Claremont, Conover, Maiden, Sherrills Ford-Terrell, Southwest (Mountain View), or St. Stephens.

Next fall, local families will be invited to bring costumes to the swap-and-shop event to trade for others or to choose from a selection of no-fee costumes. The library will be accepting donations immediately and anytime throughout the coming year.
