Hickory – Do you provide care for someone in your family? If you do, you are invited to VayaHealth’s program Effective Communication Techniques, which is the last session for the season. The program will be held on Monday, June 18, 2018 from 10am to 12pm.

Communication is a vital life function that begins at birth and continues throughout life. Effective communication is necessary for needs to be met and can break down as well as become challenging when caring for others. This evidence-informed class explains common communication problems and how caregivers can help make communication easier using skills such as active listening and approach methods. This informative and interactive course gives specific examples that caregivers can use, as well as those to avoid when communicating with others.

VayaHealth is DHSR accredited and offers certificates for contact hours for professionals, students and others who work in the fields of aging and mental health.

The Effective Communication Techniques for Caregivers program is free and open to the public, but registration is required.
