Newton, NC – We’re on the search for talented men and women between the ages of 18-75 for the upcoming show Twelve Angry Jurors. The show is being directed by Sylvia Schnople, who recently directed The Hunchback of Notre Dame last season.

Originally scripted as 12 Angry Men in 1954, 12 Angry Jurors is widely acknowledged to be one of the greatest courtroom dramas of all time. Centered around the U.S. judicial system, 12 Angry Jurors tells the story of a single juror holding the rest of the jury from a guilty verdict in a murder trial as she sets her sights on getting the others to look at the situation in an objective, unbiased way. What develops is a picture of America at its best…and its worst.

Since this show takes place in a courtroom, we are partnering with the Catawba County Historical Association to present all six performances in the Old 1924 Courthouse in downtown Newton.

Auditions are set for August 27 & 28, 2018 at 7pm each evening. Mark your calendar to come audition. This audition will involve participating in a cold read and some improv as well. Rehearsals for the show will begin after Labor Day.

You must be available for all performances which are scheduled for October 12, 13, 14, 19, 20 & 21 and a producer’s night to be scheduled. Please bring your list of rehearsal conflicts with you. You MUST be able to attend all of Tech Week (October 7-11) unless in rare emergency cases an exception is approved before being cast by the director.

All auditions will be held at the Old Post Office Playhouse located at 10 South Main Avenue, Newton, NC 28658. Please enter at the lower level door at the back of the building (on South Ashe Avenue).
