Hickory – Friday, September 15, the City of Hickory’s 2017 Sails Original Music Series will feature singer/songwriter Alexa Rose, a young, new artist with deep Appalachia roots. Her southern vocals harken back to old country and blend folk and Americana sounds.
“Alexa is a product of the Blue Ridge Mountains, but she is not just a pretty face singing ballads on her front porch,” explained Sails Original Music Series Coordinator, Bob Sinclair. “She is an emotive writer with a distinct voice and delivery. We are very pleased to have her on our stage. She’s a rising star. It’ll be a fun night with lively songs of hope and friendship sprinkled with songs of love gone wrong. There’s going to be a lot of new Alexa Rose fans after they see her on Friday night!”
The show begins at 6:30 p.m. and audience members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. Olde Hickory Brewery and Silver Fork Winery will sell beer and wine in designated areas, and there are a variety of close-by restaurants to patronize.
The presenting sponsor of the series is Lowes Foods, while The Hickory Wine Shoppe is the premier sponsor for the month of September. Additional sponsors include the Hickory Metro Convention and Visitors Bureau, Bob Sinclair Music, Larry’s Music & Sound, Patrick, Harper & Dixon, LLP Attorneys at Law, Pfahlert Creative Labs, Olde Hickory Taproom, Crowne Plaza, and WNCW.
The Sails Original Music Series will run every Friday evening in September, beginning at 6:30 p.m. each night.
