Hickory – Friday, May 27, the City of Hickory’s 2016 Sails Original Music Series will feature Alanna Royale from Nashville, Tennessee. Musically inspired by funk, Motown, and pop, this band is a mix of soul and rock. Royale has made appearances at Bonnaroo, Austin City Limits Festival, and Music City Roots, as well as featured in Garden & Gun, Nashville Lifestyles, and on NPR.
Sails Original Music Series Coordinator, Bob Sinclair describes Alanna Royale as a “six piece power party band with horns, a banging rhythm section, and powerhouse pipes. Alanna’s vocals remind me a bit of Brittany Howard from the Alabama Shakes. I am not sure the Sails Stage will be left intact by the end of the show, but I am going to be there to watch what happens!”
The show begins at 6 p.m. and audience members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. Old Hickory Brewery and Silver Fork Winery will sell beer and wine in designated areas, and there are a variety of close-by restaurants to patronize.
The Sails Original Music Series is able to bring excellent musical entertainment from all over the United States with the help of the following sponsors: Bob Sinclair Music, Crowne Plaza, Focus, Hickory Metro Convention Center and Visitor’s Bureau, The Hickory Wine Shoppe, Larry’s Music & Sound, Olde Hickory Brewery, Patrick, Harper & Dixon, LLP Attorneys at Law, TheSilentP.com, and WHKY 1290 AM.
