Hickory – The Christmas tree is lit, the snowflake decorations are sparkling, and downtown stores are glistening with the excitement of your arrival!  A Hickory Holiday! welcomes you downtown, on Thursday, December 15, from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.

Free holiday wagon rides pulled by a John Deere tractor from Wilson Farms will load and unload at the bus stop on the east end of Union Square.   Caroling on the wagon ride promises to be lots of fun with complimentary songbooks from the Taylorsville Times. Taste Full Beans Coffeehouse will have complimentary coffee available when you get off the wagon.

Nationally acclaimed performers Nathan Hefner (vocals and piano) and Rick Cline (drums) perform Yuletide tunes on the stage under the Sails. Also performing will be the Tabernacle Baptist Church Choir.   Fun activities for kids are planned by Warehouse ReSource.

The evening is complete with Santa and Mrs. Claus listening to the wishes of the young and young at heart.   As a special treat and holiday gift to you, professional photographer Pat Appleson will take photos of children and families with Santa and Mrs. Claus. The photos will be posted on his website, www.appleson.com, for parents to download free of charge.  Downtown Hickory’s gift to you!

Sheetz will serve complimentary hot cocoa and cookies in front of Tracy’s on the Square while you’re waiting to see Santa.

Downtown businesses will be open for you to find that unique gift from the specialty shops that are located on and around the Square.  Join us in Downtown Hickory on Thursday, December 15, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., for A Hickory Holiday! The event is hosted by the Downtown Hickory Development Association and sponsored by Sheetz.
