Valdese, NC – Valdese Family Friday Nights Summer Concert series will feature Shelby Rae Moore this Friday, July 20, beginning at 7pm, located in the Town Parking area.

Moore plays a mixture of blues, soul and Americana with a four-piece acoustic and electric band. She grew up in a musical family and began singing when she was very young. Joining Moore are her two uncles, Chet and Brent Palmer, as well as percussionist, Kurt Stracener.

Moore has been performing locally for several years. She plays in numerous venues across the region, including locations in Morganton, Hickory, Lenoir and Boone. She draws influence from artists such as Etta James, Adele, Jerry Reid and Bonnie Raitt.

Shelley Malin, a fan, states of Moore: “When Shelby begins to sing, there is an undeniable connection between her and the song and with every performance, she brings the listeners along for the journey.”

Concessions will be for sale during the concert series and different civic groups will offer 50/50 raffles every Friday. Season lineup cards will be available for pick up at the concession trailer. Checkers, Tic-Tack-Toe and other games will be available for public use. Myra’s Cruise In will begin every Friday night at 6pm and downtown shops will remain open later.
