ghostValdese, NC- The annual Valdese “Treats in the Streets” will be held on October 31st beginning at 4:00pm in the downtown area. Every year for Halloween the Valdese Merchants Association partners with the Town of Valdese to hold this community event. Local merchants will be handing out candy from 4:00pm until 6:00pm and immediately following a costume contest will be held in the town parking area.

Prizes will be awarded for the following groups: Ages 1 to 4- 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes; Ages 5 to 8- 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes; Ages 9 to 12- 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes.Family Costumes- 1st prizeThis year will also have a Monster Bash at 5:00pm in the town parking lot put on by the Valdese Recreation Silver Sneakers. Be sure to go by the Old Rock School on your way out for a spooky surprise! “We sincerely love being able to hold a safe and fun event for the entire family” states Morrissa Angi, Community Affairs Director for the Town of Valdese. “It is always fun to see what the favorite character of the year is, we are always truly amazed to see the creativity of the costumes.”
