Taylorsville, NC – The public is invited to come out to the 4th Annual Taylorsville Apple Blossom Festival in the streets of downtown Taylorsville on May 4th, 2019 from 9am – 5pm, brought to you by the Taylorsville Apple Festival, Inc. The 2018 festival had an attendance of approx. 10,000 to 15,000 people with over 175 booths booked last year.

Proceeds from the festival go to the Needy Children’s Benevolence Funds in the 13 Alexander County Schools.

Numerous vendors will be on site, including Foods, Crafts, Jewelry, Home Improvement, Medical, Alexander Co. Agencies, Novelties, etc. We will be having lots and lots of activities for the entire family including a Car Show, AG Activities including Pony Rides from Buffalo Beals, Mountain Shadow Farms Petting Zoo plus a few AG games.

There will be a Spring-O-Mania Kids Zone with rides from Recreational Equipment, Bella Express Train rides, a Bungee Trampoline from Flexflying, and Carriage Rides through the streets of town provided by Horse and Carriage Ltd.

The Apple Blossom Festival has several new attractions this year. Its hosting the Hands of a Sportsman non-profit with all of their wonderful sportsman volunteers that will be in the Town Ball Park with a host of activities for families. There will be something for all the children, youth and physically disabled to participate in. Some of the activities include…Tree Stand Safety, Introduction to Archery, BB gun Plinking, Camo Face Painting, Trapping Seminars, Casting Competition, Outdoor Enthusiast related vendors, the official Hands of a Sportsman booth where you can sign up for a hunt, Special guest sharing “Pass’n it On Outdoors,” Wildlife tracks identification training, ATV safety, Carolina Custom Carts, and experience the scissor jack stand for the disabled, Dunking Booth, plus so much more. What a fun time in the Town Ball Park it will surely be!

The Festival is also hosting another attraction, “The Flying Hatchet,” that can be found in front of the Taylorsville Savings Bank Deck. The Flying Hatchet will allow us all to experience the trend of hatchet throwing that is becoming so popular.

There will be two Entertainment Stages. Main Stage hosted by Keith Earley and the Sound Connection, will be bringing a variety of music…country, rock n’ roll, and hometown favorite, the ACHS Marching Band. Main Stage will host some of our great dance companies in our community as well. The Gospel Stage, hosted by Matt Helms from Joy FM, will be bringing to the stage some local favorites plus a great line-up from the Lighthouse GMA for everyone to enjoy. Also, we have a special, nationally recognized Southern Gospel Christian artist coming to our Gospel Stage, Shellem Cline with Red Tick Records will be performing from 11:15 am till 12:45 pm. Festival organizers are blessed to be able to have him this Spring and he has already committed to come back in the Fall at the Apple Festival.

Once again, there will be a Funnel Cake Eating Contest for all ages. There will be three categories: 12 and under, 13 to 17, and Adults 18 and older. All contests and shows will be awarding prizes, trophies and /or gift certificates.

Organizers say there are so many fun things to do it is hard to list them all! The Apple Blossom Festival hopes everyone will come out and support this community event where all proceeds above operating cost go to the Needy Children’s Benevolence Funds in our 13 Alexander County Schools.
