Hickory – Hundreds of patrons flocked to the Hickory Community Theatre for the opening of the Broadway musical Newsies. The singing and dancing continues this Thanksgiving weekend, Nov 29-Dec 1 in the Jeffers Theatre.

Newsies is a testament to the power of standing up and speaking out. The Tony Award-winning musical score features fan-favorites like “Carrying the Banner,” “King of New York” and “Seize the Day.” Newsies is a winning, high-energy musical just in time for the holidays and perfect for the whole family.

Performances of Newsies are Fridays and Saturdays Nov 29, 30, Dec 6 and 7 at 8:00pm Sundays Dec 1 and 8 at 2:30pm and Thursday Dec 5 at 7:30pm. This show contains some violence and mild profanity and is rated PG.

Tickets for Friday, Saturday and Sunday are $20 for adults, $18 for seniors and $10 for students and youth 18 & under.
