Hickory – Registration for Fall Baseball is now underway at the Hickory Parks and Recreation Department Administrative Offices located at 1451 8th St. Dr. NE, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The Fall Baseball Program is open to boys and girls ages 8 and 9 (must be 8 before May 1, 2017 and cannot be 10 before May 1, 2017).

Any child that has previously participated through our master registration system may call 322-7046 to register or register on line at www.hickorync.gov/recreation. Any child that has not participated in a program may register on line and once registration is complete, a parent will need to come by the Parks and Recreation Department administrative office and sign a waiver.

A birth certificate must be presented when registering for fall baseball along with a $40 non-resident fee for persons living outside the city limits of Hickory. Those who register by phone and live outside the city limits will need to mail in the fees before skills assessments begins.

Children participating in baseball this fall are encouraged to purchase accident insurance coverage. The $6 insurance fee covers the participant for a one-year period from March 1, 2017 to February 28, 2018 in all activities sponsored and supervised by the Parks and Recreation Department and must be paid at time of registration. The $250K coverage is primary coverage that pays regardless of other insurance, directly to the participant, doctor, or hospital. Skills assessments for the league will be held Mon., Aug. 28 or Wed., Aug. 30 at 6 p.m. at Kiwanis Park Field #3 located at 805 6th Street, SE. Rain dates are Tues., August 29 or Thurs. Aug. 31 at 6 p.m. Instructional days will be Mon. and Wed. and rainouts will be played on Sunday afternoon.
