Hickory – Join us on Monday September 24, from 10am to 12pm at Patrick Beaver Memorial Library. VayaHealth’s Geriatric and Adult Mental Health Specialty Team is offering free training opportunities through the NC Division of Health Service Regulation (DHSR). Contact hours for students and professionals are available on the day of the training.

In this session, “Mental Health 101,” you will learn about the most commonly diagnosed mental health related conditions in the aging population, such as schizophrenia, substance abuse and other disorders. This evidence-informed curricula takes a person-centered approach to understanding classifications and care delivery. You will leave with the basic knowledge of these disorders and develop a better understanding of mental health issues.

This training from VayaHealth is open to the public, but space is limited and registration is required. The participants will meet in the upstairs conference room.
